The sewage treatment plant at Red Frog Beach is mostly non-functional due to poor or non-existent maintenance over a long period of time. Apparently the poor financial condition of Oceans Group International has prevented them from propertly maintaining the sewage treatment system. The company now appears to be dumping raw sewage at one or more locations on the resort. Raw sewage has also been reported in the mangroves near the marina. It is clearly unsafe for swimming.
As far as Red Frog Truth is aware the company has not posted any warnings about the water being contaminated and/or unsafe for swimming.
