In August, 2023 Red Frog Beach lost it’s Green Globe certification, according to a source.

Green Globe certifies businesses in the travel and tourism industry such as hotel, resorts, conference centers etc. according to their standards for sustainable operations and management.

According to a source, Green Globe was contacted regarding the discharge of raw sewage at Red Frog Beach. Green Global revoked it’s certification and demanded that Red Frog Beach (Oceans Group International or OGI) cease displaying the Green Global certification image on the Red Frog Beach website. As of the date of this article, September 7, 2023, the company has failed or refused to remove the certification image from the website. Also, according to the source, the company is still displaying an unofficial Green Globe image at it’s Welcome Center.

RedFrogTruth.com has independently verified that Red Frog Beach no longer appears as a member on the GreenGlobe.com website.

At least as recently as September, 2022 OGI was seeking additional funding from a company based in Israel named Solid Block.  Solid Block no longer appears to be actively attempting to  raise investment capital for OGI but the following statement still appears on the Solid Block website:

“The company’s largest development project to date is Red Frog Beach Resort & Spa.  The team maintains its commitment to socially responsible principles and sustainable practices within the tourism industry, as evidence by Red Frog being the first resort in Panama to receive the prestigious Green Globe Certification.”

This statement has not been updated to reflect that Green Globe has withdrawn Red Frog’s certification.  Red Frog Truth has attempted to contact Solid Block regarding this matter without success.

It is the opinion of the Red Frog Truth editorial staff that OGI’s continuing to display the Green Global Certified image materially misleads prospective tourists, real estate buyers and investors
